Kelly Clarkson to pay Brandon Blackstock $200K in monthly support
Kelly Clarkson has been ordered to pay over $200,000 in spousal and child support to her separated spouse Brandon Blackstock on a monthly basis.
According to legal documents obtained by The Blast, starting April 1, the “Since U Been Gone” singer will be required to pay Blackstock $150,000 per month in spousal support and an additional $45,601 per month in child support for the benefit of their two children, 7-year-old daughter River Rose and 5-year-old son Remington.
She'll also be responsible for all of Blackstock's $1.25 million in legal expenses.
According to the records, the daytime talk show presenter earns more than $1.5 million each month.
Furthermore, according to the papers, Blackstock has left his job as an entertainment manager to pursue a full-time ranching career on his Montana property. Sponsoring rodeos and working on the ranch will be part of his future plans.
The judge's financial decision came after the "Voice" coach asked for her divorce from Blackstock to be recognized legally single.
After seven years of marriage, Clarkson, 39, filed for divorce from Blackstock, 44, in June 2020. She also claimed that Blackstock defrauded her as her manager, which he has disputed.
In November 2020, the “Breakaway” singer was granted primary physical custody of their children, although Blackstock gets visiting privileges at Clarkson's home. Their kids will be allowed to see him on his Montana property as well.
The kids will reside in Clarkson's new $5.5 million Toluca Lakehouse in their daily lives. She bought the property after eventually selling her house in Hendersonville, Tennessee, for $6.3 million after four years on the market.
